Sometimes We Need Tough Talk
In Hebrews chapter 5 the writer chastises his readers for not being mature enough. Telling them that they need to be taught "the elementary truths of God's word all over again". Unfortunately that is the case in too many Christians circles these days. We have failed in discipling new Christians in our churches these days and we're too afraid of offending people with the truth. Maybe it's time we deliver and receive some tough talk

The Need For Pollinators In The Backyard Garden
Просмотров 102День назад
So much of our food that we grow as gardeners/food growers/homesteaders requires pollination. Some foods can be wind pollinated and some produce male and female blossoms and need bees or some kind of pollinating insect to carry pollen from the male blossom to the female blossom. However, there are things going on that kill and/or push away these valuable pollinating insects. Email us: ArtOfCrea...
Be Confident

In Hebrews chapter 4 the Bible says that we need to "approach the throne of grace with confidence". So often we approach that throne with an attitude or mindset that is anything but confident. Confidence is not arrogance, and it's also not self deprecating or full of unbelief. So lets be confident that God can and will hear us and work in on our behalf in His timing. blossom end rot is more caused by the plant not being able to take the calcium up into the plant than by the lack of the calcium. Maybe try watering more?

    • @IndianaBackyardGardener
      @IndianaBackyardGardener 22 часа назад

      Yes I agree. It's the inability to uptake the nutrients not necessary the lack of. Inconsistent watering causes it. So it may be that they had too much water in a short time.

      @artofcreationhomestead 22 часа назад

      Well, I can set everyone's mind at ease. We are constantly making sure that they have consistent water and only the right amount of water. We have not been getting much rain, so we have been watering by hand that is allowing us to make everything is very consistent. The plants are producing an amazing amount of tomatoes. We have added bonemeal and the bottom rot has now stopped. We have been doing this for many years and completely know what to do when we see this happening.

    For the first time we don’t have a pollinator shortage! This year we have seen pollinators that we have never seen before. What I think is bringing them in is the borage (star flower) and the sunflowers we planted this year they are just swarming them and then going to all the other flowers. We direct sowed the borage and it’s just taking off (it does tend to spread but they are easily pulled if they end up where you don’t want them )
